EN 845-2 +A1 : Specification for ancillary components for masonry - Part 2: Lintels.

This document specifies the requirements applicable to prefabricated lintels with a maximum clear span of 4.5 m above the opening, made of steel, autoclaved aerated concrete, reconstructed stone, concrete, clay, calcium silicate, natural stone, or a combination of these materials. These lintels may be complete elements or form the prefabricated part of a composite lintel. Concrete and steel beams covered, as appropriate, by EN 1090-1, EN 12602 and EN 13225 are excluded. Also excluded are lintels constructed entirely on site, lintels whose tensioned parts are cast in situ, timber lintels, and unreinforced natural stone lintels. This standard does not cover linear components placed above openings exceeding 4.5 m in masonry walls, nor components intended to perform an independent structural function, such as beams.
