EN ISO 21597-1 : Information container for linked document delivery - Exchange specification - Part 1: Container (ISO 21597-1:2020).

This document defines an open and reliable container format for exchanging heterogeneous files for the delivery, storage, and archiving of documents describing an asset throughout its entire life cycle. It is intended for parties handling information related to the built environment when they need to exchange multiple documents and their relationships as part of a process or contractual deliverables. The format uses embedded resources, such as documents, or remotely referenced resources, such as web resources. In particular, it enables the inclusion of relationships between the documents contained in the container. Its applications include the transfer of tender packages, deliverables at specified stages of a project, general information or information intended for future development, approval packages, and version information between partners, in order to reference specific states and track changes.
