This standard specifies the requirements, basic performance criteria, and conformity assessment procedures for precast reinforced or prestressed concrete lattice slabs made with normal-weight aggregates, complying with EN 1992-1-1:2004 and intended to be combined with an in-situ concrete topping to form composite floors. Manufactured in a factory by casting, slipforming, or extrusion, they may incorporate lightweight infill blocks, lattice girders, or stiffening ribs. Where these elements provide the principal structural resistance, EN 1168 or EN 13224 applies, depending on the cross-sectional configuration. These products are intended for use in building floors and roofs, parking and traffic areas, and covers for buried structures, including applications in seismic regions subject to specific provisions. Excluded from the scope are bridge decks, which are covered by EN 15050, lattice slabs with a nominal thickness below the specified thresholds of 40 mm or 50 mm, and slabs whose upper surface is exceptionally smooth.
