EN ISO 12354-1 : Building acoustics - Estimation of acoustic performance of buildings from the performance of elements - Part 1: Airborne sound insulation between rooms (ISO 12354-1:2017).

This document specifies calculation models for airborne sound insulation between adjacent rooms, based mainly on measured data for direct or flanking transmission through building elements and on theoretical methods of sound propagation in structures. It describes a detailed one-third-octave-band model from 100 Hz to 3,150 Hz in accordance with ISO 717-1, extendable down to 50 Hz where the necessary data are available, enabling the determination of a single-number rating. It also presents a simplified model, applicable within a limited range, that calculates this rating directly from the single-number ratings of the elements, together with a method for assessing its uncertainty. Finally, it defines the principles, relevant quantities, applications, and limitations of the calculation.
